CLEMENT RUM
CLEMENT PREMIERE CANNE RUM
The special variety of rum known as ”Premier Canne” is made
starting from a fine selection of the best distillations carried out by
Clement’s Cellar Master. This rum is highly rated for its outstanding
quality because only premium sugar cane are chosen, it is distilled
in Clement’s Creole column and for its slow mellow maturation.
Clear. Grilled pineapple, guava, banana blossom, and faint mineral
aromas. A silky, soft entry leads to a buoyant, dryish medium body
of waxy pear, roasted tropical fruits, white pepper, and sweet brown
spices. Finishes in a gentle yellow-green banana and banana leaf
fade with wet gravel, powdered sugar and pepper notes. A very
complex and flavorful white rum. Remarkable!

X.O RHUM
One of the few rums in the world to claim a terroir as the sugar cane
is grown in volcanic soil on a single estate making it a unique microclimate
and small circumscribed geographic area (and granted
the French AOC status because of it)- much like the great houses
of Bordeaux, Cognac or Champagne claim weather, soil and geographic
demarcations and resulting effects. Produced and bottled on
the estate.
Another noteworthy point is that it is a Rhum Agricole or made directly
from sugar cane juice rather than molasses. Less than 5% of
the world’s production of rum is made this way and the process
yields a dramatically different product.
Distilled in a small single column copper pot still, which yields a lower
proof spirit full of flavor, rather than a highly distilled relatively flavorless
spirit.
This is hand selected blend of what is widely regarded to be the
best 4 vintage years of Martinque Rum aged in both French Limousin
and American oak, then carefully blended to bring out the best
points of each vintage year in one bottle.
CLEMENT CUVEE HOMERE
Now we’re getting fancy, with a distinct decanter that looks like a
giant perfume bottle with a metal closure. The Homere is
considerably different than the first two, and far sweeter. Very
bourbon-like in its overall character, it’s got vanilla and light wood
notes, but overall very light. Fragrant with floral tones as well. You
could pass this off as a bourbon to many drinkers and none would
be the wiser. Rum fans will detect that sugar cane Really enjoyable
neat or with cocktails. Easily my favorite of the lineup. Drink it without
ice. 88 proof, aka “Homere Clement.”
